Born to Adorn: Enamel Pins from Sara Richard now at the Museum Store
It’s always nice to lighten things up with a little self-expressive adornment, especially if it’s quirky! Oakland’s online Museum Store is pleased to carry this unique line of whimsical and finely crafted enamel pins from artist Sara Richard of Salem Massachusetts. Sara is an Eisner and Ringo Award-nominated fine artist and illustrator as well as a writer of short stories currently creating in the forever Halloween town of Salem, Massachusetts. Sara has deep roots in Salem. She’s the 10th great-granddaughter of Margaret Scott, one of the victims of the infamous Salem Witch trials.
According to Sara, “History and art have always gone hand in hand for me, be it in the world of painters and authors of the mid to late 1800s to the Deco age of the 1920s. I am as fascinated with painting wildlife and exploring their symbolism as I am with painting gorgeous women who have since passed. The artistry of the Victorians, especially in their mourning customs really resonates and inspires me.”
Sara Richards enamel pins priced $11.99 – $12.99
