Featured in GQ magazine as a top private event space, Oakland’s 48 acres of Victorian gardens offer a variety of spectacular locations for your special occasion. Whether it’s for two or 200 guests, Historic Oakland Foundation can help you plan a party, wedding, or other private event at Oakland Cemetery, one of the most beautiful and unique venues in Atlanta. Cemetery weddings are a growing trend, and Atlanta’s historic Oakland Cemetery is an especially beautiful venue for an outdoor wedding. As a Victorian garden cemetery and Atlanta’s first park, we’re carrying on the Victorian tradition of making Oakland a place to celebrate the lives and loves of Oakland’s 70,000 residents. We offer open outdoor venues that will accommodate up to 250 guests and a covered area that can accommodate up to 50 guests.

Oakland Cemetery was beautiful, and a most appropriate venue for the assembled architects and their families and colleagues…the facility worked well for a dinner, the tours were fabulous and even the weather cooperated!

Venue Rentals

Beaumont Allen Greenhouse

The Beaumont Allen Greenhouse is a working greenhouse that is available for private event from September through May. The greenhouse can be configured in various ways, depending on the setup. The Beaumont Allen Greenhouse is available for rental during the fall, winter, and spring.

Maximum Capacity
The greenhouse has a usable space of 20′ x 20′ and can accommodate up to 50 people for a seated event and up to 60 people for a standing event. No restrooms or running water are available at the greenhouse. A golf cart shuttle is provided for access to restroom facilities at the Bell Tower. The greenhouse is equipped for decorative nighttime lighting.

Fees + Details

$1,000 – Dinner parties, luncheons, etc. (Three hours for event + 1 hour for setup + 1 hour for cleanup = 5 hour total).

$1,000 – Wedding ceremonies (1.5 hours for rehearsal + 3.5 hours for pre-wedding and wedding photos = 5 hours total.) Additional charge for receptions.

Evening events must end by 11 p.m. Cleanup must be completed and the cemetery must be vacated by midnight. Additional time is billed at $200 per hour or any portion thereof.

Outdoor Areas

Oakland’s 48 acres provide many interesting and beautiful opportunities for varying kinds of private events. The Private Events Coordinator will be happy to arrange a tour to show you different areas that might be appropriate for the event you are planning. Contracting for a venue assures you the exclusive use of the contracted area during the time of your event.

Variable – for lunches/dinner parties, etc.
$1,000 – for weddings (1.5 hours for rehearsal; 3.5 hours pre-wedding/wedding/photos) additional charge for receptions.

Tables, Chairs, and Tablecloth Rentals

Tables and chairs to seat up to 30 persons are included in the rental fee for the Bobby Jones Room. You may rent tables and chairs from us for outside venues.

Tablecloths are not included in rental price. You may also arrange for rental of tables, chairs and linens from an approved vendor.

Catering with Outside Vendors
If you choose to use a vendor outside of our preferred vendors list, we require proof of insurance and a pre-event walkthrough before any arrangements are finalized. This is to ensure that vendors meet our venue guidelines and understand the logistics of working in a historic space.
