Summer Camp: Simple Machine Scientists

Explore art, history, nature, and science in one of Atlanta’s most special parks!

Atlanta’s historic Oakland Cemetery is offering week-long camps for summer vacation.

Our camps provide a unique opportunity to explore art, history, and nature through daily creativity-fueling crafts, exciting skill-building games, hands-on problem-solving activities, and engaging experiments that will ignite campers’ imagination and love of learning.

Activities are centered around a different theme each week, so students can attend one or more camps and have a different experience each week.

Oakland Camps are for children ages 6-11. Your camper must be in this range by the start of camp.

June 2 - 6 Camp Theme: Simple Machine Scientists

Dive into the world of simple machines and become a mini-engineer! Campers will explore the power of levers, pulleys, wheels, inclined planes, and more through hands-on experiments and engaging challenges. Perfect for curious minds ready to learn, invent, and play their way.

Each day, campers will tackle real-world problems by building, testing, and tinkering with simple machines to see physics in action. From constructing catapults to designing pulley systems, kids will discover how these mighty machines work.
