Support local and independent businesses and start the 2016 gift-giving season by visiting Oakland Cemetery’s Visitors Center & Museum Shop on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26!

Historic Oakland Cemetery continues to enhance the shopping experience for our guests, with Museum Shop upgrades like new wall color, locally hand-crafted display shelving, and new high-efficiency bathroom fixtures. Come by to view these exciting new changes and browse our carefully curated selection of unique and quality holiday décor and gift items.

The Museum Shop proudly offers hand-crafted items made especially for Oakland Cemetery and our collection includes small gifts made from the wood of fallen trees on our grounds. These unique treasures include candlesticks and bowls crafted from ginko; Christmas tree wine stoppers and mini tree figurines made of oak; and a selection of fine wood-barreled pens. Prices range from $19.99 to $34.99. We also feature hand-thrown Oakland Cemetery mugs in a variety of glazes and styles at $28.   

Our nature-inspired glass tree ornaments includes a variety of hand-painted and beaded owls, feathered glass birds, vintage-style German bird’s nest ornaments, glass cardinals and other woodland creatures. We also offer delicate glass oak and maple leaf ornaments and sparkling glass pinecones. Prices from $8.99 to $19.99.

Father Noel makes an appearance at Oakland, with various delightfully handcrafted ornaments and figural décor featuring hand-painted details and flocked and glittered accents. From $9.99 to $49.99.

Our wide selection of books are perfect for fans of Oakland Cemetery, history, gardening, or the holidays. Our collection includes everything from interactive activity books for kids to beautifully-designed coffee table volumes focusing on regional culture and history. like the recently published Historic Rural Churches of Georgia, $39.99. Those with a taste for the slightly off-kilter will appreciate Edward Gorey’s The Twelve Terrors of Christmas, $9.99 and The Night Before Christmas in the South, $9.99.

Join us Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for A Victorian Holiday at Oakland Cemetery. All holiday items purchased in the Museum Shop will be 10% off during this special annual event, which also includes a Holiday Market with local vendors: Lilly Knit Creations, Lisa Meeks Pottery, Mary Boyle Handmade Jewelry, and Nicholas Kniel Fine Ribbons & Embellishments.
