Herme means brilliant gem in Japanese and this elegant flower certainly lives up to that name. ‘Herme’ is truly a classic southern variety that was brought to North America in 1875. The tricolored flower is predominately a clear pink that runs outward onto each petal’s wide white border. These petals are then topped with random streaks of crimson. The golden stamens are interspersed among the petals. The peony-like, 3”-4” wide, lightly fragrant flowers are freely produced over several months.
