Crimson King – 1893, early, repeat
Out of stock
One of the best of the reblooming iris, ‘Crimson King’ produces an abundance of rich dark purple flowers very early in the season, and then produces a second flush in early fall. Here at Oakland the flowers appear from among the evergreen foliage in early March, often overlapping our Iris albicans, and the show continues for several weeks. The flowers and its sweet fragrance welcome spring. One of the hardiest and most carefree irises known, this is a favorite of many gardeners. Introduced by Peter Barr in 1893. Very early season
