Historic Oakland Foundation’s annual membership drive, Join in June, kicks off today. Throughout June, we encourage new friends to join and old friends to renew by giving away an amazing prize pack each week! Here are a few fantastic reasons to join or renew:
Your Membership Supports Preservation and Restoration Work at Oakland
Members of Historic Oakland Foundation honor Atlanta’s past and celebrate its future through an annual contribution that not only supports the Foundation’s mission, but offers access to a full year of free tours, advance event ticket sales, member-exclusive events, discounts at our museum store, and much more.
Member contributions directly support the preservation and restoration of Oakland Cemetery. With the help of our members, we can continue to restore historic walkways, reset damaged and dangerous retaining walls, repair headstones and monuments, and add more amenities like wayfinding signage and benches.
HOF Membership is Getting Even Better
HOF is working not only to enhance visitor experiences at Oakland, but also to improve the quality of our membership program. HOF has recently hired a new development coordinator, Lynnette Ivey, who will manage the growing membership program which currently serves over 2,000 people! Lynnette comes with extensive programming experience from the Michael C. Carlos Museum and the Booth Western Art Museum. A native Georgian, taphophile, artist, and gardener, Lynnette is excited to create enriching experiences for Oakland’s members and is developing more member-specific programming such as a mausoleum stained glass tour, headstone cleaning events, and Oakland trivia nights for our Grave Digger young professional members.
Get Tickets to our Popular Halloween Tours Before the General Public
On July 1, members will get early access to Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tour tickets. Prime times for this event, like Friday and Saturday nights, often sell out among members before going on sale to the public on July 15.
You’ll Lock in a lower Membership Rate by Joining or Renewing in June
To support the investments we’re making in an enhanced membership experience, we are increasing the price of membership on July 1 for the first time in seven years! New members who join in June and current members who renew will get a year of membership at our existing rate before the increase. Sign-up and you’ll get the existing lower rate AND a chance to win prizes each week!
