Former HOF Director David Moore Wins Lifetime Achievement Award
On April 28, HOF Emeritus Director David Moore was awarded the 2021 award for Lifetime Achievement from the Georgia Association of Museums. This award recognizes outstanding achievements by the institutions, friends, and supporters of the Georgia Association of Museums. The award was presented during the annual conference in Statesboro, Georgia.
David Moore has brought smiles to the faces of colleagues, volunteers, and Oakland Cemetery visitors for more than a decade. David is Oakland’s biggest cheerleader, encouraging colleagues and offering his unwavering support in both success and failure. He is a community builder, always extending a hand out to local partners and neighbors to forge meaningful, reciprocal relationships. Armed with a quick wit and limitless dad jokes, David inspires others to do their best work while having a little fun.
Outside of Oakland, David has consistently worked to improve the state of museums in Georgia. He served as a board member of the Georgia Association of Museums and attends conferences yearly to share his expertise with peers.
Congratulations, David!
