Successful Container Gardening
March 28 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Note: This class has been canceled due to concerns about COVID-19. All ticketholders will receive a refund.
Seasonal containers can brighten your home or provide herbs for your kitchen.
Containers aren’t difficult, and following a few basic rules will get your containers off to a good start. This class will cover plant selection, soils and everything else you need to know to have success with containers on your patio or balcony.
The class will start at the Beaumont Allen Greenhouse with demonstrations showing successful combinations and how to create them, followed by a hands on session where you will plant your own container to take home.
Containers and soil will be provided and a selection of plants will be available for purchase.
The class will be led by Oakland volunteers Jim Hinkle and Willis Lanier. Tools will be supplied, but bring your gloves. Registration is required and includes the container and soil. Register by March 23.
Note: Historic Oakland Foundation is monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and as of now, we are planning to hold our class as planned. If we are forced to cancel the class, we will issue refunds to all ticket holders.
