Oakland and the Civil War

April 12 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Stand at the site where General Hood watched the Battle of Atlanta. Hear the story of the Great Locomotive Chase and Andrew’s Raiders. See the Lion of Atlanta as it lies wounded and dying over unknown soldiers from nearby battlefields and hospitals, and the Confederate Obelisk, at one time the tallest structure in Atlanta.

This tour explores the lives of soldiers who fought, civilians who survived, and military leaders who led troops in the nation’s bloodiest conflict.
