Nightfall Chronicles: Fifty Ways to Die

November 9 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

$14.00 - $20.00
Nightfall Chronicles is a sunset tour series featuring Oakland’s popular walking tours. Join us for Oakland’s popular Fifty Ways to Die!

Early Atlanta was not a sleepy southern community – it had more in common with the Wild West. Life in this railroad town often ended in violence or tragedy. Diseases spread rapidly thanks to Atlanta’s humid climate and swampy land. While advances in medicine were made, like the discovery of germ theory and anesthesia, doctors also used quack cures. All this led to illness, injury, death, and a rise in the number of Oakland residents.

This tour begins at the Bell Tower (located inside Oakland Cemetery) at 5:00 PM. Check-in begins at 4:30 PM. Your tour includes a complimentary wine or beer. The bar opens at 4:30 PM and closes at 5:00 PM. Space is limited – purchase your tickets in advance.

Complimentary parking is available in the gravel lot adjacent to the main gate located at 248 Oakland Ave. SE.

Not all areas of Historic Oakland Cemetery are wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you need an accessible route when purchasing your ticket.

ASL interpreter available if given 3 days (72 hours) notice before the start of the tour.
