Member’s Event: A Talk by Death Cafe Atlanta Founder Mark LaRocca-Pitts

March 10, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

“Spiritual, but not religious” captures a new spiritual movement in Western culture these days. At the heart of this new spirituality is the search for meaning and purpose based on our experience of connectedness. Nothing threatens this experience of connectedness and thus our spirituality as directly as the finality of death. Coming to terms with our mortality can free us from the shackles binding us to the fear and anxiety surrounding death.

Death Cafés provide the space, the venue, and the community (and the yummy cake!) to explore one’s own understanding of death and its effects on their spirituality. As such, Death Cafés participate in this “spiritual, but not religious” movement of searching for one’s own understanding of who they are as a spiritual person, especially in light of death.

Join us for our March member’s event: An enlightening presentation by Pastor Mark LaRocca-Pitts on his experience as a chaplain and founder of the Atlanta Death Cafe.
