The Dunlops are Leaving a Lasting Legacy at Oakland
Did you know that you can include Historic Oakland Foundation in your estate planning? Every year we have several of our generous members and supporters notify us that they have decided to designate a portion of their estate to the foundation in order to leave a continued legacy of passionately championing the work we do. The Dunlops are an example of some of our neighbors who have included Oakland in their estate planning, and encourage others to do the same. Check out their thoughts below:
“Oakland Cemetery is, hands down, our favorite place in Atlanta. We live just two blocks away and feel so fortunate to have so much rich history that’s been lovingly preserved within a stunning botanical garden.
When we moved to Grant Park in 2015, neither of us had spent much time at Oakland but it quickly became a favorite spot for walks to enjoy the ever changing grounds that are meticulously cared for. So much of Atlanta’s history has been lost to decades of development and we’re proud to support Oakland’s mission to keep this vibrant part of our history alive.
Every year, we invite our friends and families to one of our favorite annual traditions: Capturing the Spirit of Oakland. We make it our mission to help others see the wonder that is Oakland Cemetery in hopes they’ll decide to become members of HOF themselves.
We included the Historic Oakland Foundation in our estate plans to ensure the rich history is preserved for generations in the future and to make sure the residents’ stories are told.”
