Plant some of Oakland’s famous daffodils in your own garden.
We are offering three classic, heirloom daffodils of southern gardens. All are tough survivors and, while they can endure years of neglect, they will reward a little care with many beautiful spring flowers. They should settle into your garden and provide beauty for generations to come.
These bulbs are being sold “in the green.” That means they still have foliage on them, though the foliage will have begun to age naturally. The bulbs have not been dried as they would when purchased in the fall, so as soon as you receive them, please plant them 3”-4” deep in a sunny spot and give them a little water. The foliage will continue to die down as the bulbs go dormant for the summer and can be removed once it is yellowed or brown. There are three bulbs per package.
Plants will be available for pick-up across the road from the greenhouse on Friday, May 29th from 3:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Any plants not picked up will be left unattended on the Visitors Center’s front porch. Those not collected by Wednesday, June 3rd will be discarded. Learn more about pickup.
