Through its fourth annual Building Community Day program, The Home Depot Foundation has awarded $20,000 to The Historic Oakland Foundation. The donation will be used to help fund the Foundation’s feasibility studies for building renovations including the construction of a visitor center, the renovation of its historic green house and a re adaptive use for the cemetery’s comfort stations
“We are thrilled to receive this support of both collaboration and funding from The Home Depot Foundation,” said May B. Hollis, Chairperson for the foundation. “This positive recognition and support will assist us as we expand and enhance our mission to restore, preserve, beautify and promote this treasured Atlanta landmark. The Community Building Day additionally hosted by the Georgia Center for Non Profits provided 20 charities with a learning and networking opportunity before the awards were given. “The Home Depot showed its commitment to not only our mission but also that of so many worthwhile charities with an unparallel example of corporate citizenship”, said David Moore, executive Director for Historic Oakland foundation.
